FEASSSA Games 2024: Bukedea Comprehensive opens up with victory over Benjamin Mkapa | Football Boys
Victory Bukedea Comprehensive School (Uganda) secured a 2-0 win over Benjamin Mkapa SS (Tanzania) in the opening match of the 2024 FEASSSA Games. Watch highlights and read the full story.

Before hundreds of spectators on a new stadium at Bukedea Comprehensive Sports Park, hosts Bukedea Comprehensive School kicked off the 2024 FEASSSA Games with a promising note.
The co-hosts overcame Tanzania’s Benjamin Mkapa Secondary School 2-0 during a group A duel on Sunday, 18th August 2024.
Two first half goals from Reagan Ssekisambu and Yusuf Ssebumpenje inspired Ronald Ssali’s coached side to the much-needed victory.
Ssekisambu tapped home from close range as early as the 6th minute past goalkeeper Haji Abdala Abdala before Ssebumpenje’s second at the apex of the opening stanza on a bumpy grassy ground.
President Yoweri Museveni officially opened up these games that mark the 21st edition since inception.
Museveni called upon regional integration during his brief speech to foster unity and the spirit of Ubuntu.
Football continues on Monday, 19th August 2024 with defending champions St Mary’s Kitende facing Kenya’s Highway Secondary School in the morning at 11 am (group A).
There will then be two other afternoon group B duels involving hosts Amus College and Musingu High School (Kenya) as well as APE Rugunga (Rwanda) and Kalangalala Secondary School (Tanzania).
Besides football, these games have Rugby (7’s and 15’s), Handball, Netball, Athletics, Swimming, Hockey, Volleyball, Goalball, Tennis, Badminton and Table Tennis.
Mixed results for Kenyan sides in Matchday One of FEASSSA 2024 Games
In five-aside basketball, the match between Dr Aggrey and Buddo SS (Ug) was stopped in the 3rd quarter due to darkness, with the Kenyan side trailing 45-58
Kenyan sides played to mixed results in matchday one of the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) 2024 games in Bukedea, Uganda.
In boys’ football, Musingu came played to a 2-2 draw with hosts Amus College while the Kenyan champions Highway High School lost 0-2 to Ugandan heavyweights St. Mary’ Kitende. In girls’ football, Kenya champions Butere Girls beat Amus College School 2-0 while Nyakach Girls played to a barren draw with St. Joseph’s Kitale.
In rugby, all the Kenyan sides had a clean sweep in the Day One of rugby FEASSSA games. All Saints Embu started off well with a narrow 24-23 win over Defending Champions Saint Mary's Kisubi while Lenana Lenana School beat Namilyango College 10-7. Butula Boys rained terror on Uganda side Kings College Budo with 60-0 win as another Kenyan side Kitondo School displayed dominance with a 16-10 win over Makerere College.
In hockey, the girls Kenyan Champions Tigoi won big against Namagunga with seven goals to none. St. Joseph’s Kitale beat defending champions Nyamira 2-0. In the boys’ competition, Kenya champions Musingu played to a 1-1 draw with Ntare School while St. Anthony’s Kitale lost 0-1 to defending champions Kakungulu Memorial.
